Dirty Water Consumption


The number of people with diarrheal disease currently at RSUD Cimacan Cipanas ranks first in North Cianjur. The dry season resulted in the residents consuming dirty water to infect bacteria to the disease.

According to Head of CUUU Cimacan Hospital, Hendrawan, the need for clean water becomes a constraint faced by residents during this dry season. No problem, the use of dirty water for consumption and daily necessities such as cooking or shower potentially leaving bacteria. It triggered the outbreak of diarrheal disease that infects people.

"If there is a diarrhea disease, it is a disease most affected by the people especially this dry season, considering many people who consume dirty water due to the availability of clean water for the needs of the people," he said on Tuesday (8/9).

Apart from that, Hendrawan said, the slovenly environment is affecting residents affected by the disease. He likened it to the use of dirty water for bathing including hand washing can be one of the causes of diarrhea disease.

"Unhealthy and slovenly environments can be one of the causes of diarrhea, including the use of dirty water for bathing, but it can cause itching as a cause of diarrhea, for example, hands washed by dirty water and then used to eat," he added.

Separated, Nunung Nuraeni (40) Ciherang Village resident of Pacet Subdistrict, did not deny if he was using dirty water all this while. The water is used for daily necessities, both cooking and bathing.
