KUALA LUMPUR Sept. 17 - The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is urged not to delay the purifying of the Metropolitan Lake which allegedly caused stinking to visitors and more than 500 families at Jalan Laman Rimbunan, Kepong, near here.
Chairman of Rimbunan Kepong Home Residents Association, Go Kim Peng said they were living in uncomfortable condition due to the unpleasant stench.

According to him, residents believe that the stench is caused by the surface of the water that contains stools and garbage covered with lotus flowers.
"This situation has caused the water flow in the lake to function perfectly," he told Utusan Malaysia here.
Utusan Malaysia is understood that the problem has been raised since last year to the DBKL and the lake cleaning works have been implemented.
But less than a year of cleaning work was done by a bad smell from the lake again.
Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Ahmad Phesal Talib in his reaction to the problem said the act of removing rubbish into the drain identified the main cause of water in the Kepong Metropolitan Park Garden here being dirty and polluted.
Meanwhile, Head of Kepong Community Service Center, Yee Poh Ping, said after his own polls found a shingle floating in the middle of the lake and was trapped in the lilies of the lotus tree.
"We climbed rafts up to the middle of the lake to find out the cause of the foul and it was surprised that there was a shit that did not know where it came from, floating on the surface of the lake.
"The smell is so bad that it disrupts visitors for recreation. Worse, the residents of Taman Kepong Indah and People's Housing Project (PPR) Intan Baiduri also have to close their house windows at all times," he said.
He added that Poh Ping had contacted DBKL and several other parties and pledged to carry out the investigation and appropriate action would be taken.
