Since 1900 water is no longer supplied without treatment.

Malaysia is a prosperous country. Malaysia has been awarded water resources from a variety of clean sources. We should be grateful for the rainy fall of 3000mm a year allowing Malaysia to manage water supply to its people. The long river network can also be used as a good source of clean water supply. The total number of rivers flowing in Malaysia is 150 that the rod supply about 25000 cubic meters of renewable water.
Over the past 200 water has been used appropriately for washing, minifying, irrigating crops and for other uses. The piping system was introduced by the UK since his reign in Malaya. The policy to channel clean water was introduced by the British in view of the need for clean water for their use. In 1804 the British had provided clean water to more than 10,000 Penangians. At that time the drains were made of bricks and often suffered leakage and rupture problems. However in 1877 the pipeline was changed to cast iron.
Since 1900 water is no longer supplied without treatment. Since then, water delivered to homes will be treated first. In 1906, the first dam for irrigation was built, namely the Ampang dam to supply water throughout Kuala Lumpur. By 1939 most major cities were equipped with clean water supply systems.
Until 1950 Malaysia had 100 water treatment centers to supply 195 million liters of water for the needs of 1.05 million consumers. With the increase in population in Kuala Lumpur in 1959 a dam was constructed namely Kelang Gate and Bukit Nenas rawtan center fully operational.
After the Second World War, the State gradually developed from the effects of a very powerful war. In 1980 during the industrial era began in Malaysia, the country once again received high demand for clean water, the industrial sector. The demand increased by 437% in 2000. Higher increase in treated water demand.
Various efforts have been made to improve the quality of water services throughout the country. Mega projects are designed for that purpose. Among them are the distribution of water from Pahang to Selangor, the Kinta dam in Perak and several other projects to supply clean water to consumers growing every year.
