dirty water in the yard

SUNGAI PETANI 1 Dec. - Residents in more than 10 houses in Tikam Batu Town, Jalan Kampung Berapit here are depressed when they are forced to smell the dirty water flowing from the nearby marketplace for more than five days.

The average population tells them that their lives are disturbed by the foul odor of water on the path and entrance into their homes.

Hence, they asked the Sungai Petani Municipal Council (MPSP) to build a special drain to drain the dirty water from the market to another area.

Residents, Rosmina Ahmad, 47, said the matter should be addressed and immediate action by the MPSP before it became worse.

"Every day we have to see dirty water in the house, it's good to be monitored because the water is stinking, making a drain to facilitate dirty water to flow to other areas," he said when met recently.

He said the dirty water from the market was located about 100 meters from his house into the area after the drainage of water which should drain dirty water to other areas buried in the soil.

"So the dirty water continues to overflow in this area, wanting to go back home from the last resort in dirty water," he said.

Another resident, Rahanah Saidin, 58, said anyone did not like staying in a dirty water place.

According to him, the responsible party should find the appropriate method in handling such cases.

"When the dirty and stinking water is around the house, it will cause life to be uncomfortable," he said.

Another resident, Harun Abdullah, 56, said the dirty water inside the house would surely disturb anyone's heart.

"The parties have come to discuss and dialogue with the population but no action has been taken," he said.
